Tanya Paton

Inspired by the lush gardens of Taranaki, Tanya Paton creates vibrant, botanical-inspired artworks that explore colour, light, and texture. Each piece evolves organically, beginning with intuitive mark-making before building into rich, layered compositions with a luminous quality.

After graduating from Wellington’s T.L.C. Art School in 2001, Tanya exhibited her bold abstract works in galleries across the North Island. A move to Bali in 2005 introduced tropical influences and a deepened exploration of vibrant colour. Returning to New Zealand in 2019, she settled in New Plymouth, where her work now reflects the beauty of the region’s flourishing gardens.
