Glass Gallery Without light there is no colour, light is the true colour. Light and reflection are manipulated with simple form. Form seduces the eye. As a surfer and an glass artist I am fascinated by the play of light in volume. With glass I can create a form that manipulates light into a continuous dance of colour. Since making my first leadlight I have been captivated by the possibilities of the negative shapes. This inspired me to recycle waste window glass into three-dimensional geometric forms and become one of the few laminated glass artists in New Zealand. I am constantly challenged to dispel the myths of glass while enhancing its mysteries. The danger of cut glass becomes tactile, monochrome glass prisms into colour, complex interior patterns compliment the simple exterior form which is simultaneously solid and fluid. Visible from my studio are both Mount Egmont and the Tasman sea.
