Pippa Lugg

Pippa completed a Bachelor of Media Arts Degree - Majoring in Painting at Waikato Polytechnic (Wintec/Te Pukenga). Following an Internship with 3 renowned illustrators: Fraser Williamson (NZ), Henrik Drescher (Denmark) and Daron Parton (UK), she moved to South Africa and for two decades worked as a Freelance Illustrator for a diverse range of clients in Africa and the UK. Since her return to New Zealand with her family 3 years ago, Pippa has focused on her painting once again. The strong link between her illustrations and paintings are the concept drawings. “Sketches are the starting point for all my artworks which are then developed into their final form with my medium of choice. This may be oil paint, ink, charcoal, watercolours, scratch board or collage.” Pippa has been selected for the “Home Work Maunga Auaha: Taranaki Art 2024’ exhibition at Puke Ariki from 6 July to 10 November.
