Kris White

Kris has her art studio and workspace near the seaside village of Oakura. Her rural outlook, with the Tasman Sea to the north and Mt. Taranaki to the south, gives Kris the inspiration for bright and colourful acrylic paintings on canvas. Her work includes everyday objects like, shoes, roosters and even the humble kitchen cheese grater. The added advantage of visiting Kris's studio is that she shares it with her daughter Portia. Kris has exhibited extensively around New Zealand in national Art Shows and galleries, having recently exhibited for the first time in Sulzburg in Austria in Europe. Kris is a multi-award-winning artist with her well know sculptures and fibre works on paper bags. She will have her first arts residency in September this year at "from out of the blue studio gallery" in the Taranaki coastal township of Opunake. Kris's aim to the observer of her work is to create a playful, fun and exciting statement to be hung on any wall in your home or office. If you want artwork that has the WOW factor look no further!
